This collection covers the period from the end of the 16th century to the 1970s. It includes records relating to file directories; regulations; expert opinions; procuration matters, especially protocols; trials of the chamber and the treasury; customs trials; trials in the individual principalities as well as in the later superior court districts.
Of special interest to Jewish history are: case of the administrative district of Springe against the magistrate in Münder because of the jurisdiction (iurisdictionis) on the "protected Jews" ("Schutzjuden") in Münder, including: complaint of the Jew Salomon Mareus from Münder for filing fees, 1790; inventory of the apartment of the Jew Ruben Salomon, 1740; case of the sexton Ernst Barteldes against the "Schutzjude" Hirsch Marcus Kopf because of house rent, 1737; case of Behrend Heinrich Hahne against the "Schutzjude" Hirsch Marcus Kopf for claims, 1740; case of the town of Moringen against the administrative district of Moringen because of the jurisdictions regarding the "Schutzjuden" living in the town of Moringen, including documents on some Jewish residents of the town of Moringen or the surrounding area, for example: the widow Moyses Heyllbrun, the "Schutzjude" Isaak Levi, the "Schutzjude" Elias Hirsch and the Jew Meyer Levin from Hillersen; verdict dated 22 October 1759; case of administrative district of Harburg versus the city of Harburg because of the jurisdiction over the "Schutzjuden" residing in town houses, including rental dispute with the Jewish widow of Mendel, 1744-1746; punishment of a brawl in the Jewish school, 1748; case of administrative district of Harburg versus the city of Harburg relating to criminal justice, including investigation of the circumstances of the death of the wife of the surgeon Johann Schmalfeld; investigation against the baptised Jew Ursula Catharina Damman from Hamburg for theft; case of the Harburg administrative district against the magistrate of the city of Harburg because of the fines for Jewish women with illegitimate children (1799) 1803.
