Of special interest is a document in which Duke Johann of Braunschweig asks abbots, prelates, clergy, knights, citizens and subjects in Lüneburg to grant the Bede (duty) of the Saline of Lüneburg, which he requested as a special grace because for the debts of his brother, duke Albrecht, who had left the country, he cannot pay either by selling or pledging his estates or by loans from the Jews. He authorises the bearer of this document, the provost Thetmarus.
