- The collection contains: minting regulations; correspondence; confiscation of false coins; treatment of foreign coins; coin conferences, etc. Of special interest to Jewish history are: letter to the princely councils of Hannover regarding the export of viable coins effected by Jews from there; contract with Behrend Möller and Mathias Klein for rewards given to them in discoveries of forgers, etc.; report against the Jew Ephraim Effren; permission to change the discredited low-value coins by the Jew Philipp Aaron and notice about it to the cities of Celle and Lüneburg; request by the city of Mühlhausen for intercession to the emperor on the charges that they had interfered with the rights of the imperial commission appointed against some of their citizens and against the Jews protected by association for counterfeiting and coin manipulation (“Kipperei”); the abolishment of the mints in Kaltenhof and Ratzeburg; arrest of the mint master Lorenz Wagner in Hamburg and a Jew in Goslar; the Jew Samuel Hammerschlag issuing devalued coins.
