The collection mainly contains documents from the archives of the dukes of Braunschweig and Lüneburg concerning the city of Hameln, such as, for example, acts regarding the establishment an Augustinian hermitage in Einbeck, confirmation of town privileges, etc.
Of special interest are: appeals of the city of Hameln against orders of the ducal commissioners Dr. jur. Jakob Steinberg and Kaspar Amelung claiming their right to dispose of the citizens' estates; including: duke Friedrich Ulrich von Braunschweig and Lüneburg requests the city of Hameln to take action against “Kipper und Wipper” [persons who manipulated coins], coin forgers, “Ohme” and Jews (such as Dethard Koke) (29 March 1622).
