- The collection contains files of the Grubenhagen department of justice in Osterode and Herzberg. They include subjects such as general state affairs, judiciary, forestry, church and school matters, military and territorial matters. Of special interest are: complaints of the Jews in the principality of Grubenhagen to Emperor Maximilian ll about Duke Wolfgang and Duke Philip the Elder of Braunschweig-Lüneburg (Grubenhagen), who had forbidden them to trade within the principality, and the reaction of Emperor Maximilian ll advocating in favour of the Jews (1570); mandate against foreign Jews.
