This collection contains files from the Braunschweig-Lüneburg central authorities on persons and families (1513-1895). Subjects include petitions and reports from civil servants and private individuals in the areas of sponsorships; guardianships; marriage contracts; building matters; wills; sovereign civil service; immunities; financial support; pensions and benefices; inheritance; debt; trade; military service; feudal and civil status matters; litigation; personal estates.
Of special interest are the files regarding trials; tolerations; claims for money against Jews; requests for consensus to marriage; assumptions of guarantees; investigation files; police files; issuing writs of protection; issuing protection and escort letters; petition on behalf of the Jews of the Reich because of the tract published in Frankfurt [by von Eisenmenger] "Entdeckung der in jüdischen Büchern contra Christianos enthaltenen Geheimnisse" ("Discovery of the secrets contained in Jewish books against Christians") and the suppression that is to be expected as a result; intercessions against various debtors in the Reich; execution orders; issue of birth certificates; reports; investigations; subscription to a work on "Die jüdischen Gauner in Deutschland" ("The Jewish crooks in Germany") by the royal criminal court actuary A F Thiele in Berlin.

- The collection Cal. Br. 15 is an artificially created collection of files of different origins and different periods from the 15th to the 19th century. Many Calenberg and Hannover central authorities, as well as Wolfenbüttel central authorities from the time of communion, can be identified as provenances.
