- The collection includes records relating to coin edicts; minting of coins; litigation and trials for fraud and counterfeiting. Of special interest are the following files: princely chancellery Münden; arrest of the lord of the mint, the master mint and the Jewish staff at the mint in Wunstorf by the governor of Calenberg; princely chamber chancellery of Duke Erich; establishment of a princely mint in the principality between Deister and Leine in Wunstorf, the administration of it by the Jew Fibes and embezzlement of the mint master, Jews and council members there; principal department of justice in Wolfenbüttel; complaints of confiscated Jewish tax and money in Leipzig, Hannover, Stendal and other cities; principal department of justice in Neustadt/Rübenberger; princely chancellery of Hannover; arrest of a Jew in Gandersheim for using counterfeit coins.
- Archival history:
- The collection consists of files of the Calenberg, Wolfenbüttel and early Hannover (until about 1705) registers. The restoration of the inventory, which was destroyed in 1943, was carried out mainly according to the inscriptions on the fascicles.
