- Scope and content:
- Collection 2-S.14 is part of the third section comprising material about various crafts and guilds in Bremen and their representation in guilds as assembled by the Bremen city council. The part about the drapers' guild contains a single file (2-S.14.o.I.i.7.) about the local drapers' conflicts with Jewish salesmen. In 1803, when the village of Hastedt, east of Bremen, became a suburb Bremen drapers tried to keep Jewish tradesmen from Hastedt out of their business, by sending a request to the town council asking to forbid the draper's business to the new Jewish citizens. Similar requests followed in the years after 1803. The file also contains material about criminal procedures and trials between the draper's guild and local Jewish tradesmen.
