- Scope and content:
- The collection comprises various administration documents from the Grand Duchy of Gottorf (“Großfürstentum Gottorf“). The collection contains 15 files relevant for Jewish history. Most oft them are individual files about common subjects in the interaction with Jewish citizens in northern Germany in the 18th century, namely requests for business openings, financial negotiations, liabilities and legal conflicts. The collection also contains a group of files comprising materials about local Jewish residents in certain parts of Schleswig-Holstein, those being: Neumünster (No. 605), Norderdithmarschen (No. 690), Kiel (No. 925) and Neustadt (No. 1003). These files include lists of names of Jewish residents, requests by and to local Jews, police documents and real estate documentation.
