Section A 203 comprises material about the concerns of religious groups other than the local protestant church. Section B consists of four files, all of them dealing with issues of the Jewish congregations in the district of Celle.
File No 1 (1735-1851) comprises material about the organisation of local rabbinate districts and the elections of district rabbis. This involves correspondence about the succession of local Rabbi Berhens Levy, who died in 1803, including discussions about the rights, privileges and duties of his successors.
File No. 2 comprises correspondence about the administration of synagogue congregation districts from 1847 on. Following a decree from 1844, synagogue districts in the Kingdom of Hanover had to be reorganised. The decree is part of a process of improvement in the legal registration of Jews living in the Kingdom of Hanover. Following the decree, all Jews had to be officially associated with a synagogue congregation, while congregation districts had to be defined more precisely.
File No. 3 comprises documents about the financial organisation of Jewish congregations in the Kingdom of Hanover, involving the expenses of synagogue maintenance, congregation schools and congregation welfare. It comprises material from 1859 onwards.
File No. 4 comprises the same type of material for the time from 1919 onwards.
