- The collections from 1945 onwards contain files, especially from the immediate post-war period, on subjects such as confiscations, support for victims of fascism and lists of victims. The following items are relevant to Jewish history: Collection 2.1.1.2.2 Minutes of the Council (1945/1950) No. 4485 and 4488, including Jewish cemetery; 2.1.1.4.1.2.41 Minutes of the council 1990 No. 6330, including dealing with Jewish heritage; 2.1.1.15.05.4. Visual and applied arts No. 13822 (1979/1989) Reconstruction of the Jewish cemetery in Lindenpark; 2.1.1.19.9 No. 2393 (1973/1990) Redesign of the Jewish cemetery (1988); 2.1.2.3.4 No. 439 (1938/1941, 194571951) Jewish congregation; 2.1.2.5.25. Denazification, No. 1454 (1948) Statements concerning the murder of the Jewish merchant Paul Rotschild (1942); 1.2.5.26. Confiscations, Expropriations No. 507 (1945/1948) contains, among other things, a report on a transport of Jews from Denmark via Warnemünde to Theresienstadt in 1943 (vol. 7); 2.1.2.9.5.4 Victims of fascism No. 1271 (1945/1950) includes things "List of Jews of Faith"; No. 1276 (ca. 1948) Care of victims of fascism, includes things lists of murdered Jews and concentration camp victims.
- Archival history:
- The origins of the Rostock Council Archive date back to the year 1265, but it was not until 1884 that a modern city archive was created. A new building was built in 1907. Between 1936 and 1953 the city archive was subordinate to the directorate of the city museum; since 1996 the institution has been an office of the city administration of Rostock. Since 1997 the holdings have been listed in a database. The administrative archive of the city of Rostock was joined with the city archive in 1969. On 1 January 2009 the civil register of the registry office Rostock was handed over to the archive. This inventory is a complementary source.
