- Administrative/biographical history:
- The Ducal Arenbergische Mediatamt (mediatised administrative district) of Hümmling was established in 1828. It included the parishes of Sögel, Börger, Lorup and Werlte. The administrative district of Hümmling existed from 1828 to 1885. Before 1828, the lower administrative authority responsible for for the administrative area was the district of Meppen, after 1885 the district administrative office of Hümmling and, respectively, (since 1932) the district of Aschendorf.
