- Administrative/biographical history:
- The administrative district of Haselünne was established in 1828 as the Ducal Arenbergische Mediatamt (mediatised administrative district). It included the parishes of Haselünne, Herzlake, Holte and Berßen. The former Duchy of Arenberg-Meppen had been incorporated by the Vienna Congress (1815) to Hannover. The rights of the state sovereign and the state of Hannover were governed by the royal decree of 9 May 1826. After further negotiations with the duke, the civil authorities were newly organised with the introduction of the district administrative constitution. In 1827, the administrative district of Haselünne was established. It includes the city of Haselünne and the parishes of Haselünne, Herzlake, Holte and Berßen. With the district administrative order for Hannover on 6 May 1884, the former administrative district of Haselünne was incorporated into the district of Meppen on 1 April 1885.
