- Administrative/biographical history:
- Since the Middle Ages administrative districts (in addition to towns and hamlets) existed at the lower levels of administration and the lower courts (with the exception of the noble residents, who were under the jurisdiction of the state sovereign). Their responsibilities were regulated in the official and house regulations of 1615. These included the supervision of the proper nature of the land in agricultural and forestry matters, the regulation of peasant services, revenues and taxes, treasury and contributions, the keeping of registers and participation in the administration of the state sovereign domain (Domanium). The lowest executive body of the administrative districts were until 1784 the Hachmeister or Bauermeister, then the administrative officers (Amtsvögte). Since 1692, the small administrative district of Arensburg was co-managed by the administrative district of Bückeburg. In 1872 the administrative district of Bückeburg was transferred to the jurisdiction of the city of Bückeburg. From 1 October 1879 the administrative district of Arensburg was united with the Bückeburg administrative district. At the same time, the jurisdiction and administration were separated. The jurisdiction was transferred to the newly established District Court of Bückeburg.
