- Administrative/biographical history:
- With the reorganisation of the previous state administration by the decree of June 29, 1821, the Hessian County of Schaumburg was "mediatised": it lost its independence and received a government deputation (§ 58), which was assigned to the province of Lower Hesse (based in Kassel) (§ 1). The deputation belonged to the administrative district of Schaumburg. In 1851, the Rinteln government commission took over the district administration. Based on the regulation of 30 August 1821 regarding the new area division, the Schaumburg district consisted of a) the regional court of Rinteln (with the city of Rinteln and parts of the present administrative district of Schaumburg), b) the administrative district of Oldendorf (with the previous administrative district of Oldendorf and parts of the administrative district of Schaumburg), c) the administrative district of Obernkirchen (without Pohle) and d) the administrative district of Rodenberg (with the previous administrative districts of Rodenberg and Sachsenhagen as well as Pohle).
