- With the introduction of the Napoleonic administrative order in 1808, the local administration of the cities in the newly created kingdom of Westphalia was assigned to a mairie (city authority) appointed by the king and a city authority. The municipal administration was completely separated from the jurisdiction. The Ducal Regulation of 1813 revoked the French administrative model.
