- Archival history:
- The remaining records of the Hungarian-Italian Bank were taken to the National Archives in the early 1950s.
- Administrative/biographical history:
- The Hungarian-Italian Bank was founded in 1920 by a consortium of bankers, mostly from Italy, headed by Camillo Castiglione. During the 1920s, the bank acquired several industrial companies, but after the Great Depression it focused only on financial transactions. The balance of the firm was 36 million USD at the beginning of the 1930s. The bank was liquidated by the Communist Hungarian state in 1948.
