The collection of the Chief Health Officer’s Office, a municipal administrative body responsible for public health matters, contains plenty of information on health care and various other social matters, on bodies of public health and education, including hospitals and elementary schools as well as Jewish individuals working in the field of healthcare, including state employed and private medical doctors and pharmacists. Files of special relevance include the name lists of specialists (szakorvosi névjegyzék) from 1925-1938, lists and addresses of medical doctors employed by the National Insurance (társadalombiztosítás) from 1939, recruitment of municipal doctors, 1936-1939 (községi és városi orvosok), registration cards of medical doctors, coroners and midwives (törzskönyvi lapok) from 1934, (Boxes 99-101); as well as the registration cards of medical doctors expelled from the medical chamber of Pest-Pilis-Solt-Kiskun County and Kecskemét, 1936-1942, including Jewish doctors who were discriminated against due to Act IV of 1939, also known as the Second Jewish Law (Box 103).
Miscellaneous registry books and statistics (IV.411.d.) include registry book (törzskönyv) of medical doctors from the years 1881-1935 in the alphabetical order of administrative districts and towns, alphabetical registry of all doctors created in 1936 with starting date of practice, registry book of state-employed doctors from the years 1911-1940, index of the members of the medical chamber from around 1937 (documenting the situation right before the Jewish laws) and many other statistics and registers of doctors; registry book of midwives in the alphabetical order of administrative districts and towns, registry of all midwives created in 1939 with starting date of practice, registry of midwives from the years 1903-1949, various registries of pharmacists, apprentices and other employees of pharmacies, and registry book of pharmacies from 1884-1914, and also a registry book of dentists from 1928-1942 (Vols. 1-34) Cases of Jewish citizens can be located by the alphabetical indexes and file-level investigation. Vol. 54 is the registry book of schools (iskolák törzskönyve) in alphabetical order of municipalities, which holds information of the school buildings, the number of pupils, etc. Vol. 56 includes various kinds of statistics on health care and schools and other social issues, including occupational structure, wealth, land ownership, education, statistics of birth and death, diseases, housing, etc.
- Archival history:
- The records of the Chief Health Officer of Pest-Pilis-Solt-Kiskun County were handed over to the Pest County Archives in 1950. The material was re-arranged several times and the present state of the fond was created in the 1970s and 1980s.
- Administrative/biographical history:
- Established by Act XXI of 1886, the office of the Chief Health Officer (tiszti főorvos) was the main body within the administrative structure of a county or city of municipal rights responsible for public health matters. In 1936 the office of the Chief Health Officer was detached from the county administration as an independent body.

- The collection is arranged into five major groups: General Records (IV.411.a.), Records of Kindergartens (IV.411.b.), Records of Health Control (IV.411.c.), Miscellaneous registry books and statistics (IV.411.d.), and the separately handled records of the Kecskemét branch (IV.411.e.) Case files are arranged chronologically, the numbers of the files re-started each year. Statistics and registries are arranged thematically.
