- Archival history:
- The records, almost complete and unarranged, were transferred to the Archives in 1963 from the County Crafts Chamber in Novi Sad. The Archives took over the material found in the premises of the Chamber and added it to the fonds. In the following years it was grouped, arranged and finding aids compiled.
- Administrative/biographical history:
- Associations of craftsmen as interested communities were founded in these areas, thus in Bačko Potisje, after the XVIII Law was adopted in the Assembly of Hungary in 1884, under the name “Ipartörvény”. They operated under various socio-political circumstances in several state formations. Their goal was always the same, only their name changed during each socio-political upheaval. The Association of the Craftsmen for the County of Stari Bečej, “ Óbecsei Ipartestület”, was founded in 1885. After WWI it changed its name to the Craft Guild Stari Bečej. From 1927 it operated as the Crafts Association. The next change of name was in 1932. From that year, all craftsmen were required to join the Association of Craftsmen in Stari Becej. In 1941 it returned to its previous name “Óbecsei Ipartestület”; in 1943 some organisational changes occurred and it briefly operated under the name “Óbecse és Vidéke Ipartestület”. At the end of 1944, it operated for a short time under the name of the Association of Craftsmen in Stari Bečej, and the following year it changed it to the Association of Craftsmen of the County of Stari Bečej. The Association ceased to operate in 1950 in line with the General Law on Crafts, which was passed in 1949.
