The collection comprises records created between 1737 and the current day. It includes records on the history of the workers’ movement, on the Union of Communists of Yugoslavia, the Union of the Communist Youth of Yugoslavia and the war for liberation of Yugoslavia, as well as the history of Niš and its surroundings, various agreements and contracts, minutes from the sessions of the City Assembly, etc.
Material relevant to Jewish history includes reports on the Jews who perished during WWII addressed to the State Commission of Serbia for Determining the Crimes of Occupiers, photographs of the “Righteous Among the Nations“ taken by Jelena Glavaški, report of Leonid Sid to the General Consul of the Kingdom of Yugoslavia in Jerusalem regarding the arrest and deportation of Jews in Pirot, list of Jewish households in the city in 1931, list of Jews settled in Niš prior to the War, list of Jews confined by the occupying forces, list of Jewish refugees in the territory of Niš, etc.
