The documents in this collection give an insight into the cultural, social and economic life of Šabac and its citizens. Jews were among the members of the Society, who contributed to the Society by financial means for which they received special recognition and diplomas.
The collection comprises records relating to the collection of charitable contributions by members of the Society. Those records provide details on the members of the Jewish community and the contributions they provided. The records also describe the ceremony of the consecration of the flag when the Society was in communication with other singing societies, such as the Serbian-Jewish Singing Society from Belgrade. One letter expressed the satisfaction of the Serbian-Jewish Singing Society that the Šabac Singing Society "Zanatlija" would perform Jewish religious songs. The administrator of the Šabac Singing Society "Zanatlija" was the industrialist Jakov Žak, who was also its benefactor.
Jews were also the members of the Šabac Amateur Crafts Theatre "Janko Veselinović", as recorded in the applications for enrolment. The work of the theatre was well received in the city. Documentation created during the occupation show that Jews no longer participated in its activities, while the works of Jewish authors were strictly forbidden.

-
The Šabac Singing Society "Zanatlija“ was founded in 1924. The minutes of the founding assembly recorded that the goal of the Society was to cherish songs and strengthen the artisan guild. The Society consisted of members, singers, helping members, founding members and benefactors. It was administered by the Assembly, which met once a year, the Supervisory Board, the president, the secretary and the administration. The first independent party of the Society was held in 1925, and in 1934 a jazz orchestra was founded, which was very popular. The Šabac Singing Society "Zanatlija" tried to renew its work in 1953, but was incorporated into the KUD "Abraševic" the following year.
The Šabac Amateur Crafts Theatre "Janko Veselinović” was founded in 1938 and continued during the Second World War. After the liberation in 1944, the members of theatre founded the National Theatre "Janko Veselinović" in Šabac.
