This collection comprises documents collected by Dragoljub Čolić, which refer to the history, development and construction of the town of Zrenjanin and its surroundings. He studied and collected data related to the population, educational, social and cultural life in the city (ballet, music, fine arts, societies, etc.); the history of the judiciary system (judges and lawyers); health care (doctors, pharmacists, midwives, diseases); prominent individuals from the city; the development of industry, agriculture, crafts, printing and traffic in the city; history of banking; sport events held in the city (basketball, athletics, boxing, tennis, swimming, etc.); religious buildings and clergy (Orthodox, Roman Catholic, Jewish and Lutheran churches). Čolić collected 1166 photographs, deposited in the Photographic Collection, relating to eminent persons and famous objects in the city.
Records relating to Jews are mostly incorporated within other units. The archival boxes numbered 3, 4 and 5 contain special series of documents referring to Jews. Box No. 3 contains 27 archival units of documents on Jews in Banat from the 18th century to 1942 (lists and data). Box No.4 contains 282 archival units related to Jewish victims of the fascist terror, arranged alphabetically (A to Š). Box No.5 contains lists of executed camp detainees, missing persons and survivors from Zrenjanin and places in the Banat region.
- Archival history:
- The personal collection of Dragoljub Čolić was handed over to the Archives of Vojvodina as a gift in 1995 from his relatives, and delivered to the Historical Archives of Zrenjanin, as recorded in the minutes No.II 031.5-18/1/07, where it was classified, arranged and finding aids compiled.
