- Administrative/biographical history:
- The City of Veliki Bečkerek became part of the Kingdom of Serbs, Croats and Slovenes on 1 December 1918 with the same status it received under the Law on Organisation of Municipalities of 1871. Until the adoption of the Decree on the Division of the Country into Districts, the old administrative division into districts, counties and municipalities was maintained; thus the city of Veliki Bečkerek came under the authority of Torontál County. When the country was divided into 33 districts according to the Law on the Division of the Country into Districts of 1922, Veliki Bečkerek belonged to the Belgrade District. The Law on the City Municipality of 1934 specified the city administration and its authority and the position of the city. The City of Veliki Bečkerek ceased to exist when the German forces occupied the city.
