- Archival history:
- The collection was transferred to the Archives on 7 December 1999 by the Elementary School "Dušan Jerković" in Inđija.
- Administrative/biographical history:
- Despite of the lack of reliable information on the school’s foundation, it can be concluded that the school was opened in 1760. Until 1849, 17 teachers were recorded. The first mentioned teacher was Isak Arsenijević (Adamović). At that time the school was called Srpska škola (Serbian school). In the beginning, the school had only one teacher and from 1887 it one female teacher joined the school. In 1926 it was recorded that the old Serbian school had so many pupils that it was necessary to build a new building, which was officially opened on 11 January 1937. The school was then named State People’s School Kralj Petar I. In the school year 1938/39 the school changed the name once again into Public Elementary School in Serbo-Croatian Language. When the Second World War broke out, the school was moved to the old building and was named Croat People’s School. It was attended by Orthodox and Catholic pupils.
