- The library collection of the Archives of Serbia was formed by purchase, exchange and by donations from authors. Collection is ongoing.
- Administrative/biographical history:
- The Library of the Archives of Serbia is a specialised library which collects books and publications. The library was established at the same time the Archives was founded and the first books were registered in 1900. The Library has two basic catalogues – the thematic catalogue and authors catalogue; additional catalogues are analytical, statistical, SANU catalogue, catalogues of foreign publications, catalogue of published laws, school reports catalogue and archival material catalogue. The most significant part of the Library is the Collection of Old and Rare Books. The Library holds over 70,000 books and serial publications. The collection grows constantly through purchase of new publications, exchange with similar institutions and by donations from authors. The library also receives books which are considered to be obligatory donations of books that were written on the basis of archival material.
