- The collection comprises material created by the General Commission of the Federation of Jewish Communities of Yugoslavia (SJOJ), i.e. the Informative Service of the Commission, which kept records, between 1955 and 1975, on Jews whose fates during World War II could not be confirmed, on the administration of real estate and their sale, on the maintenance of Jewish cemeteries, on the movable and immovable properties of the SJOJ and Jewish communities in Yugoslavia which ceased to exist.

- The General Commission of the Federation of Jewish Communities of Yugoslavia was responsible for the following: provision unit; occasional actions; information service; records and statistics of the Federation; real estate management and sales; maintenance of cemeteries; sale and renting of movable and immovable properties of the Federation and communities which ceased to exist; religious activities in communities; organisation of the work of communities; investments and dealing with the general issues related to summer vacations for children and youth.
