- The collection comprises the administrative books and records of the Association of Požarevac Craftsmen and Workers "Sloga". Jews are included in the register books of the founders, benefactors and honorary members, which provide the following information: name and surname, profession, date of registration as a founder, contributions made. The files also include data on membership fees and decisions made regarding the applications of individuals for their enrolment. For example, Isak Gabaj applied for admission into the regular membership in 1911, and there was a decision regarding the application of Isak Karijo who failed to pay the membership fee for 6 months. The collection contains records related to the members, founders and honorary members Moreno Cohen, Lazar Albahari, Isak Karijo, who was the president of the Jewish Religious Community, Rahila Karijo, the president of the Jewish Women in Požarevac, Samuilo Kalmić and others. It also includes unidentified photographs and portraits of benefactors, some of whom might be Jews. The records illustrate the participation of the Jewish community in the economic and the social life of the city.
- Archival history:
- The collection was transferred to the Historical Archives of Požarevac in 1952. The sheet music and the scores, which were originally owned by the National Museum in Požarevac, were added at a later date.
- Administrative/biographical history:
- The Association of Požarevac Craftsmen and Workers "Sloga" was founded on 21 May 1893 (according to the old calendar) at the Foundation Assembly, and ceased to exist on 4 February 1950. The Association was founded by the craftsmen and workers with the aim to assist members in case of sickness or death. It was a kind of social association. It was financed by the fees and contributions made by their members. It also had a singing society, also named “Sloga”.
