This fonds contains books originally owned by the library of the Mantua Lawyers Association. In 1936 the Mantua Fascist Syndicate of Lawyers and Attorneys asked its members to donate books they no longer needed, usually duplicate copies. Among the biggest donations of books are some given by Jewish lawyers, such as Franchetti and Viterbi, whose names were stamped on the books donated by them. There are also some books written by Jewish authors, such as Levi and Finzi.
The following volumes are of particular interest for Jewish history: no. 655, containing the entire body of laws issued in Italy for “the defence of the race” against Jews (edited by the royal notary Tito Staderini, in Rome on 24 February 1939); no. 656, an article taken from the magazine “Lo stato” (March 1939, vol. no. 10) about the congress “Race and Law” held in Vienna in March, 1939, with Italian and German jurists.

The State Archive of Mantua received the bibliographic fonds "Fondo librario dell’Ordine degli Avvocati" in 2005. This collection (45 linear metres) comprises printed legal texts and several manuscripts, mainly from the nineteenth century, It also includes works in Latin and French, as well as loose material (manuscripts, typescripts, printed). Many of the texts comprising the collection were gifts and legacies, as evidenced by stamps on the title pages and ex libris: "Legato sen. Cadenazzi", "Donazione Franchetti", "Donazione Viterbi", "Andreotti", "Resti Ferrari", " Giovanni Borchetta ”,“ Giovanni Risi ”, etc.
