- This fonds includes the following “grida” that are relevant to Jewish interest: In folder no. 1 there is an order against disorders provoked by Jews (1754). In folder no. 4 there is a prohibition of baptising Jewish children against their parents’ will (1706). Monopoly licenses for tax collection on buying and selling in the ghetto can be found throughout the fonds (folders no. 4, 39, 54, 60, 63, 66, 69, 78, 79, 84, 87) and there are similar monopoly licenses granted to Jews for different activities in folders no. 83 and 85, while in folders no. 87, 88, 89, 93 and 96 there are request made by Jews people to transform their lands into paddy fields or to do hydraulic works on paddy fields (in the years 1856, 1857, 1859, 1862, 1865). Folder no. 7 contains the request of the Jewish community to maintain its judicial autonomy through the “Accademia ebraica” (Jewish Academy) (1786). Folder no. 9 includes rules for the Jews who want to abandon their religion (1786; folder no. 17, dispositions to guarantee a safe (temporary) exit of the Jews from the ghetto (1792); folder no. 19, taxes due by the Jewish community (1794); folder no. 20, questions about the “Accademia ebraica” and its range of competencies (1793). Folder no. 24 contains details Jewish holidays of that year (1796), with the names of the three “massari” (heads of the Jewish community), and the decision of the Jew Gentiluomo Portaleone, who was in prison, to offer himself and his five children to the Church (1796). In folder no. 36 can be found a list of the firms owned by Jews (1808). The prohibition of grain trade for the Jews (1816) in folder no. 47 was cancelled one year later (see folder no. 48). Folder no. 58 contains norms to be followed by two Jewish spouses, of whom one converted to Christianity (1827); folder no. 60, prohibition for Jews to carry out apothecary activity (1829); folder no. 71, taxes to be paid on tallit [prayer shawls] (1840); folder no. 77, validity of signatures in Hebrew (1846). In folder no. 118 there are details of the establishment of the Angelo Forti pious institutions to support the military career of two young men from Mantua, of any religion (1884; see also its developments in the year 1920 in folder no. 124).

The State Archive of Mantua holds a large number of so-called “grida”, literally “(orders) shouted”, indicating official orders, that could be handwritten or printed, issued by the government. They are found throughout numerous fonds and people have over time attempted to collect them all and organise them..

The "Gridario del Comune di Mantova" is a collection, in chronological order, of deeds issued by various local authorities and administrations. This collection includes "grida", ordinances, complaints, auction notices, decrees, etc. They are partly printed, partly manuscripts.
