The collection consists of 94 boxes and was organised, for purposes of inventorying, in a number of series, based on the prevailing thematic logical core, as follows:
- Plague (documentation relating to the plague of 1451);
- Correspondence, 15th-16th centuries (correspondence from the 15th to the 16th century and documentation concerning census and commerce);
- Offices (documentation of the ducal period relating to civil and military offices);
- Cicco Simonetta (documentation concerning Cicco Simonetta, his family, conspiracy, trial and testament);
- Protocols;
- ‘Sfragistica’ (documents with wax seals likely collected by Luigi Osio, 1448-1771);
- Government Acts (concerning: Water, Agriculture, Albinaggio, Annona, Census, Commerce, Worship and Chamber of Commerce and Imperial Funds, Finance, Civil and Punitive Justice, Shouts [Grida], Religious Places [Luoghi pii], Military, Foreign and Sovereign Powers, Healthcare, Shows, Streets, Studies, Treasury, Offices);
- Municipalities - Families;
- General correspondence, 16th-19th centuries;
- Antonino Arguis (correspondence of the Minister of Spain in Mantua and Modena, 1677-1699);
- Napoleonic magistrates;
- Ministry of the Napoleonic War;
- Napoleonic penal code;
- Napoleonic Commercial Code;
- Public debt of the Napoleonic era;
- Laws, decrees, circulars of the Napoleonic era;
- Exhibitions (Industrial Exhibition in Milan, 1881; Agricultural Exhibition in Milan, 1885; Italian General Exhibition in Turin, 1884);
- Forced loan (deeds of the Lieutenancy of the Lombard provinces relating to the forced loan imposed by the Provincial Delegation of Milan on the arts, trade and professions, established in Milan and Lombardy in 1848);
- Notifications, circular letters (notifications, notices, regulations, and circulars issued by the Lombard Lieutenancy);
- Agrarian Congress of Milan (1860);
- Various Acts;
- Posters, notices.
Within these series, the inventory units correspond to the arrangement units (boxes) and are ordered according to the arrangement given to the Miscellanea around the middle of the twentieth century (and attested by the previous room inventory).
The titles of the description units have been established based on the prevailing content of the documents and mostly correspond to the titles present in the previous inventory. The contents of the units are deduced from the annotations attached to the files kept in the individual boxes, probably due to the operations carried out by State archivists during the 20th century in an attempt to move documents to the pertinent fonds.
