This collection contains documents related to the activities of the Governor of Tauragė County during Nazi Occupation, including minutes of meetings, protocols regarding crime and various events, administrative cases, cases of return of property, regulations relating to postal services, news about associations and cooperatives, lists of governors, residents, workers, repatriates and Russian and Soviet prisoners of war, residency permits, register of confiscated property, registry of deforestation, documents related to recruitment to the Wehrmacht army and recruitment of the population to the Reich labour force, and more.
In terms of Jewish-related content, this collection contains correspondence and instructions related to the Holocaust, such as documents related to the expropriation of Jewish property and the isolation of Jews in ghettos. For instance, inventory 1, file 4 contains instructions from 1941 regarding “isolation” of Jews in ghettos.
