During the Nazi occupation of 1941-1944, the archive continued its activities and was renamed the Vilnius National Archive. Following the second Soviet occupation of 1944, the NKVD regained control of the archives. When the Soviet Union collapsed in 1991, the archive was renamed the Lithuanian Central State Archive. This fonds was organised in 1949/1952.
- Administrative/biographical history:
- The Association of Karaite History and Literature Enthusiasts was established in Vilnius in 1932. Its goal was to support and encourage its members’ interest in Karaite language, history, culture and literature.
