- Scope and content:
- This collection contains documents of the Central Committee of Jewish Statesmen's Party "Judenshtat". Most of the documents in this collection are correspondence: with foreign organisations, such as “Brit Kanaim” (inventory 1, file 1); with the Statesmen’s party in Tel Aviv and London (inventory 1, file 2); with Belgian, Hungarian, Polish and Palestinian Statesmen’s Parties’ Committees (inventory 1, file 3) and others. Other files include statues of “Brit-Hachajal” and Ze’ev Jabotinsky’s Independent Zionist-Revisionist associations, and drawings of flags, uniforms and emblems (inventory 1, file 6). The collection also contains overviews of activities in Palestine and notes on the possible political improvement, emigration to Palestine and other questions.
- Archival history:
- This fonds was organised in 1956 and supplemented in 1979 and 1944.
- Administrative/biographical history:
- The exact date of when the Central Committee of Jewish Statesmen's Party "Judenshtat" was established is unclear, but documents in this collection date from 1934. “Judenshtat” was a party that promoted revisionist Zionist ideas. The party’s goals were to nurture Jewish national consciousness, unite different classes of Jews, educate its members to be disciplined and nationalistic Zionists, and seek a separate colony in Palestine for the party’s members. “Judenshtat” cooperated with Statesmen’s parties abroad, and organised conferences and readings of research papers.
