This collection contains documents pertaining to the Vilnius Municipality, mostly in the years 1939-1940. It contains cases of various ministries, personnel files, land plots and building plan files, correspondence about personnel and pay checks.
Other than a mention of employee pay checks of the Jewish “St. Jacob” and “Savich” hospitals, there is no particular Jewish content in this collection.

- Archival history:
- The LCVA took over this collection in 1940 and 1954. It rearranged the documents in 1954 and added to the fonds in 1975, 1978, 1980, 1989 and 2001.
- Administrative/biographical history:
- During the First World War and in the interwar period, the city of Vilnius changed hands repeatedly, from tsarist Lithuania to German occupation, to the Polish army, to the Soviets, finally to be ceded by Lithuania to Poland after signing the Soviet-Lithuanian Peace Treaty in 1920. It remained under Polish control until 1939 when it was seized by the Soviets and annexed, with the whole of Lithuania, into Soviet Union in 1940. In 1941, the Germans captured Vilnius, but the city was recaptured by the Soviets in 1944.
