- The Lithuanian Soviet Republic’s Central State Archive took over the fonds from the Panevezys State Archive in 1949. The fonds was reorganised in 1952 and supplemented in 1961, 1965, 1976, 1996 and 2012.
- Administrative/biographical history:
- The Raseiniai County Governor was active from 1918 to 1940. He was appointed upon the establishment of an independent Lithuanian Republic in 1918. The County Governor had to oversee the creation of local municipalities, organise the creation of stations, and appoint heads of stations. He was responsible for internal security, education, health organisations and the establishment and activities of associations. The exact date when the Raseiniai County Governor stopped its activities in 1940 is unknown.
