- The collection consists of the papers of the Jewish student Zionist society "Thelem Lavan", which existed in Riga from 1930 to 1937. The collection includes the society’s statute of 1930, correspondence from 1930-1935 concerning its activities, and on a few organisational matters such as the composition of the society's board. The correspondence included in the collection is primarily with other Jewish students' organisations (inventory 1, file 3). It includes invitations to lectures and special events initiated by the society, and thus make it possible to discover “Thelem Lavan”’s connections and activities in the field of Jewish culture. Information about the organisation's cultural activities can also be gleaned from requests from 1933-1937 submitted to the Riga prefecture regarding the approval of various cultural events (inventory 1, file 2). In addition, the collection includes notifications that were given to the Riga prefecture regarding the structure of the "Thelem Lavan" board. An important part of the collection are materials about the society's closing in 1937. These papers include minutes of the closing committee (inventory 1, file 4).

- In 1930 the Jewish student organisation "Thelem Lavan" was established at the University of Latvia in Riga. The organisation mostly engaged in cultural activities and it actively cooperated with other Jewish student organisations in Latvia and in other countries. The organisation closed in 1937.
