- The collection contains papers relating to the activities of the Tallinn Jewish Youth Union “Max Nordau”. The collection includes the minutes of the constituent assembly of the union on 7 February 1921, the minutes of the union’s general meeting on 24 February 1921 and minutes of the union’s board meetings in 1923. These materials reflect the union's ideological and intellectual environment and facilitate the study of the union's practical activities. For example, the protocols of the constituent assembly on 7 February 1921 reveal the process of adaptation of the organisation's regulations and goals: The main goals of the Max Nordau Union were: the development of Jewish national awareness, introducing the union’s members to Jewish culture, familiarising them with the problems of the society and the economy in Eretz Israel (Palestine), and participation in the Keren Hayesod's activities. The main activities of the union’s members were: studying Jewish history, literature and the Hebrew language; monitoring the situation in Eretz Israel; and participating in the activities of Keren Hayesod in order to provide the Zionist movement with the resources needed for the development of Jewish settlement in Eretz Israel.
