- Scope and content:
- The collection of the Parliament contains both materials related directly to the activities of the Parliament and administrative documents related to other branches of the government of the Democratic Republic of Georgia. The materials on the Parliament's activity include draft bills and bills approved by the Parliament, minutes of the Parliament sessions and of commission hearings, reports by prime minister Noe Zhordania and by other members of the cabinet, regulations and other administrative materials. Other governmental papers include documents related to the creation of the Georgian constitution, reports and correspondence on diplomatic, military and financial issues, personal material of Georgian political activists. Some of the collection’s files include Jewish-related data: 1. Papers and information related to the Jewish members of the Parliament (Kakitelashvili, Na'azov, Eligulashvili and others) and of the National Council of Georgia (Beziashvili, Davarashvili): correspondence, official documents, mentions in members' lists etc.; 2. Appeals of Jewish parties and organisations concerning the activities of the Parliament and of its Jewish members: a statement of the Jewish inter-party council and of the Agudat Israel party concerning the election of Jewish representatives; a telegram of the Tse’ire Tsiyon group in Kutaisi pointing out on abuses during the election of Jewish deputies; a notification by the Jewish National Council in Georgia on the Council's parliament election candidates, and on the election of F I German as the Council's chairman. The Georgian state law on the participation of Jewish representatives in the Georgian government (1918) is also included in the collection.
