- Scope and content:
- The collection of the Constituent Assembly contains both materials related directly to the Assembly's activities and administrative documents related to other branches of the government of the Democratic Republic of Georgia. The materials of the Constituent Assembly include minutes of meetings and speeches, a project of the constitution of Georgia, memoranda, correspondence and other alike documents; materials related to other governmental activities include materials of Georgia's foreign relations (diplomatic correspondence, agreements and so on), papers on the establishment of administrative and other institutions (reforms of the military and of the taxation, healthcare, transportation and education; the establishment of state archives, national gallery and other institutions). Personal material of contemporary Georgian political leaders can also be found in the collection. The Jewish-related materials include correspondence and other documents from 1920-1921 on the question of the Georgian Jews' autonomy: a telegram sent to the Jewish members of the Constituent Assembly by heads of the Jewish committees in Akhaltsikhe, Kulashi, Poti, Sachkhere and Surami; a statement given by the Jewish representative M Khakhanashvili to the members of the Constitutional Commission, and a declaration of the Jewish national council of Tbilisi; a petition of Jewish members of the Constituent Assembly and of other Jewish representatives (Eligulashvili, Tavdidishvili, Khakhanashvili and others) concerning the maintenance of traditional Jewish schools. A protocol of the Constituent Assembly's discussion on the publication of State laws in ethnic minorities' languages as well as regulations on the religious and the cultural-educational rights of the Georgian Jews are also found in the collection (1920).

- The Central Historical Archive of Georgia received the collection in 1939.
- Administrative/biographical history:
- The Democratic Republic of Georgia was proclaimed in May 1918 and existed, as an independent state, until the Soviet invasion of Georgia and its Sovietisation in 1921. Elections to the Georgian Constituent Assembly were held in February 1919; in the elections, the Social-Democratic Workers' Party (Mensheviks) won absolute majority, receiving more than 80% of the votes.
