- Scope and content:
- The collection includes documents on trading and gifting of estates and serf peasants, bequeathing property and peasants to churches and monasteries, granting of ranks and privileges. Administrative and judicial records, including appeals to Kings of Georgia and other persons of authority can be also found in the collection. The Jewish-related documents include a 1569 order by King Levan of Kakheti on a donation of several families of Jewish serfs to the monastery of Svetitskhoveli in Mtskheta, a record on a donation of Jewish serfs by the wife of Otar I, the Duke of Argavi, to a monastery at Ananuri (1690), and a record on the donation of a Jewish serf by the elder of the town of Surami to the Catholicos-Patriarch Anton I of Georgia (the donor requested that serf would be baptised; 1755).
