- Scope and content:
- The collection contains records on the activity of the Court of Peace: decisions on financial, family and other issues, various administrative papers etc. Singular files mention decisions related to Jewish residents of Tbilisi, such as a decision to sequestrate the property of Z Krihely (1909).
- Archival history:
- In the 1920s the materials of the Russian administration in Tbilisi were transferred to the newly established Main Historical Archive of Georgia. In 1939 this archive became part of the Central State Historical Archive of Georgia, the predecessor of the current Central Historical Archive.
- Administrative/biographical history:
- In the new judicial system, established in the Caucasus in line with the 1864 Russian Judicial reform, the Departments of the Courts of Pease served as subdivisions of the Districts Courts (Округи окружного суда; these, in turn, were subdivisions of the Judicial District of Tbilisi).
