- The archival collection of the Provisional Regional Board of Akhaltsikhe includes one clearly Jewish-related file, with an appeal by two Jewish residents of Akhaltsikhe – Hahamiashvili and Bagdatishvili – asking to prevent the head of the Atskuri district from using a mill they owned (1838).

- In the 1920s the materials of the Russian administration in Tbilisi were transferred to the newly established Main Historical Archive of Georgia. In 1939 this archive became part of the Central State Historical Archive of Georgia, the predecessor of the current Central Historical Archive.
- Administrative/biographical history:
- The Provisional Regional Board of Akhaltsikhe was created after the Russian takeover of the city from the Ottoman Empire in the 1830s. After 1840 the area of Akhaltsikhe was reorganised into the County (уезд) of Akhaltsikhe (initially in the Governorates of Georgia-Imeretia and of Kutaisi, later in the Governorate of Tbilisi).
