Scope and content:: The photographs in the collection depict the Fourth Convention of the GruzOZET – speakers, delegates, exhibits presented at the convention (agricultural and other production). The album also includes data on the organisation's activities – development of Jewish Kolkhozes, financial support, logistics, educational and other services, info on the GruzOZET's members.

Archival history:: This collection, along with several Jewish-related photographic collections, was originally held by the Historical-Ethnographic Museum of the Jews of Georgia (see Central Archive of Contemporary History, f. 35). After the museum's liquidation in the early 1950s, its photographic materials were transferred to the Central Archive of Audio-Visual Documents. Currently, the original photographs are located at the David Baazov Museum of History of Jews of Georgia, while the CAAVD holds copies of the photographs.

Administrative/biographical history:: OZET (Vsesoiuznoe Obshchestvo po Zemel’nomu Ustroistvu Trudiashchikhsia Evreev v SSSR; All-Union Association for the Agricultural Settlement of Jewish Workers in the USSR) was established in 1925 as a non-governmental body, intended to promote the Soviet plans of fostering the settlement of Jews on the land, their engagement in agriculture and industry (the governmental organisation, responsible for the implementation of this policy was called KOMZET). OZET provided financial and practical assistance to the newly established Jewish agricultural colonies throughout the USSR (including the ones established in the "Jewish autonomous region" of Birobidzhan). OZET was liquidated in 1938, not before many of its activists, including the chairman, S M Dimanshtein, were arrested.

GruzOZET, the Georgian branch of OZET, was established in 1927. By 1933, it supported the creation of at least 15 Jewish kolkhozes in various parts of the Georgian SSR. The activities of GruzOZET were ceased along with the liquidation of OZET in 1938. The majority of Jewish Kolkhozes were "internationalised", i.e. Jewish collective farms were merged with non-Jewish ones during the 1930s and in subsequent years.
