- The collection includes the following documents: circulars and orders of the Public Commissariat of Education / Ministry of Education of the Uzbek SSR; statistical data on the number of native-Jewish schools, Jewish teachers and students in Tashkent, Samarkand, Ferghana, Zeravshan and Khorezm regions; minutes of meetings of the local Jewish schools’ teachers' councils (1925-1948); statistical tables on schools and pupils' distribution according to teaching language with separate details on girls’ schools and the number of Jewish students in cities of the republic (1926-1927); documents relating to organisation of schools and teachers' retraining courses at the expense of the state budget, including a school opening for 25 native-Jews in Tashkent and a formation of a group for Hebrew teaching in schools of the second level in Tashkent and Samarkand regions (1925-1926). The collection also provides information about the social status of native-Jewish students of the boarding school in Samarkand region and includes a petition for a permit for the former pupils of the boarding school to a shoe factory (1925).

- The People's Commissariat of Education of the Uzbek Soviet Socialist Republic was formed by the resolution of the Uzbek SSR Revolutionary Committee on 25 November 1924. In 1946 it was renamed to the Ministry of Public Education of the Uzbek SSR.
