- The collection relates mainly to two topics: petitions from Bukharan Jews regarding the recognition of local population rights of the Turkestan Territory (1898, 1918) and the administration's decree to expel the Jews from the Turkestan Territory (1872-1916). - The Russian Imperial Political Agency was founded in January 1886. A political agent was an official representative of Russian tsarists in Bukhara. He was assigned consular functions such as protection of personal property and the commercial interests of Russian nationals residing in Bukhara, supervision over them and investigation of all cases of crimes committed by Bukharan nationals against representatives of the Russian nation. The agency existed until the formation of the Bukharan People's Soviet Republic in 1920.
