Collection description

Scope and content:: In this collection we firstly note the CD-ROM containing the digitised documents related to the persecution of the Jews in Ghent, from the fonds “Reeks IX (Burgerlijke stand en bevolking) (BE / SAG / IX)”, made by the former Joods Museum voor Deportatie en Verzet (2003). A number of video recordings are related to the Jewish population in Ghent and concern i.a. the commemoration of the Jewish students of the university of Ghent (1996; reference AV DZD/275-51), the book Schrijven in de schaduw van de dood: jodenvervolging in het Gentse by Marc Verschooris (AV DZD/425-204), the reaction of the Jewish community of Ghent to the death of Israeli Prime Minister Rabin (1995; AV DZD/264-44), the complaint of the Forum van Joodse Organisaties against Roeland Raes (AV DZD/349-125) and the exhibition ‘Sporen van herinnering’, concerning Jewish heritage in Poland (2001; AV DZD/421-199).
