Collection description

Scope and content:: This fonds consists of subject files assembled by Robert Grosman in the framework of his various activities. We find a rich correspondence, notes, reports and press cuttings. We note for example files related to the Organe de consultation entre Chrétiens et Juifs en Belgique, to the ‘Karmel’ in Auschwitz and to the Commission consistoriale pour les relations pluralistes.

Administrative/biographical history:: Robert Grosman was the vice president of the Consistory and the president of the Commission consistoriale pour les relations pluralistes (established to strengthen the relations between the main recognised religions in Belgium). He married Lily Grosman, who would assume the presidency of the Commission Femmes of the Consistory and of the Belgian section of the International Council of Jewish Women (Conseil des Femmes juives de Belgique).
