Scope and content:
This collection consists of 4 documents.

1. Typescript entitled "Siberian Jews”. The author and year of writing are unknown. The text covers the chronological period from 1659 to the beginning of the twentieth century and is dedicated to a brief survey of the history of Jewish communities in Siberia and the state policy towards the Jews in the region.

2. A typescript report on the archival work carried out by a member of society "Shalom" I.E. Brodsky. The document consists of a single sheet and includes a list of Jewish institutions in Omsk as of 1913-1916 (data on the presence of synagogues, Jewish school, charities), the output of several archival sources on the activities of the Jewish Committee of Assistance to refugees during the First World War, as well as information about the number of houses owned by Omsk Jews during this period.

3. A fragment of an unknown typescript with a list of literature on the history of the Siberian Jews. It contains a list of published sources and literature on the history of the Jews, published from the late nineteenth century until 1987 (3 pages).

4. Reference document prepared by the officers of the Department of the use and publication of documents of the State archive of the Omsk region (now the Historical Archive of Omsk Region) on the availability of documents on the history of Jews in the archive collections. The document covers the period from 1811 to 1923. It was prepared in 1993 and contains the following sections: "The government laws regarding Jews”, "Jews and Conscription", "Exile and hard labour in exile", “Trade and merchants”, "Jewish conversion to Orthodoxy", "Social movements and civil society organisations”, “Culture and education” and "Cancellation of legal restrictions".
