Scope and content:
This collection includes inquiries into criminal cases: an accusation against the tradesman I G Goldstein living in Omsk under article 29 of the Penal Code (illegal trade), 1910, and against G I Cazynski, formerly of Kharkov province, under articles 13 and 1657 (theft), 1912. The files include testimonies and signatures of witnesses, interrogation protocols, writs and judgments.
Archival history:
Materials were added to the archive as part of the standard local process.
Administrative/biographical history:
Justices of the Peace in Siberia were established in 1896. They were abolished by the Soviet government in December 1917 and newly restored by the Whites in June 1918. Finally, Justices of the Peace were abolished by the Bolsheviks in November 1919.
