Scope and content:
The fonds contains the statutes of the Jewish Religious Community of Neveklov (1867, 1896, 1909, 1937), filing registers, meeting minutes, lists of community members, including their addresses and property (1939–1942), election records, personnel records, registry records, correspondence, financial records, religious tax records, registers of synagogue seats, and fragmentary records of a Jewish school and of the burial society (chevra kadisha). The community's records were kept until 1938, apart from a cash book which was kept until 1942.
Archival history:
The records were incorporated into the archives of the Jewish Museum in Prague during the Second World War as part of shipments of material from Jewish religious communities that had been disbanded.
Administrative/biographical history:
Jewish settlement is documented in Neveklov from the start of the 17th century. A Jewish religious community was established there in 1657. The community was disbanded by the Nazis during the Second World War and did not subsequently resume its activities.
